Spondon is approx 3 miles east of Derby centre and is neighboured by other Derby suburbs Chaddesden, Oakwood, Ockbrook and Borrowash.
The area was once a village and still retains a close, village community spirit to this day. There are approx 5,400 households in Spondon, home to 11,000 residents.
At the heart of Spondon is a busy thriving village centre comprising of a number of local shops, cafes and businesses. Spondon also boasts a number of pubs plus two members clubs, the Liberal Club and Village Club.
A large number of local community groups exist in Spondon, including Spondon Community Association, Spondon neighbourhood Board and the Village Improvement Committee. These are made up of volunteer members of the local community, all working together to improve life for everyone in the area.
